day 119, Beijing

Today has been a bit of a lazy day which has been much needed as the last three and half weeks has been go go go. Woke up at a leisurely time, chilled out in the hostel to catch up with photo’s and general computering while having a cheeky bit of brunch, then off to the Tiananmen square, read my book for a little while, then headed into the Chinese history museum, which was incredible. It is a vast building with lots of things of interest, it was design week so they had a lot of poncey stuff as well as the traditional Chinese things which was very cool. From there went back to the hostel after  another bit of reading and went for dinner with Brigitte, kelly and Brian. We ordered too much food but it was amazing, had pigs intestine, three duck delicacy, donkey meat, spicy chicken with peanuts, two types of rice, garlic butter kale and three types of mushrooms and beer and it was cracking. As we’re all done in thought it would be nice to watch a film, our first choice of the hangover 2 they didn’t have, so we settled on unstoppable, probably one of the worse films ever however it was that bad it was good, t’were about a unstoppable train…which they stopped, a couple more beers, said goodbye to Brigitte who was flying to Shanghai early tomorrow and off to bed!
