day 243, Cat Ba Island

After a failed attempted lie in we mooch around and get breakfast before getting on our bikes and having a drive around. We drive through Cat Ba and round the coast, past beaches and climb up to a viewpoint. It’s really beautiful. We arrive at the end of the island and turn back, stopping on our way for some amazing sea food and driving back to the hotel. After a quick sit down we decide to go for a walk, then walk back and get our bikes to check out the Cat Co beaches, of which there are three of them. The second one is by far the nicest, super fine white sand and a gorgeous view of the karsts, the water isn’t that cold and tempted to go for a swim though don’t have our cossies, we talk about coming back in the morning, maybe running it though later in the evening that plans dissolves out of laziness and the cold, plus I’m not feeling 100%. Once back and it’s getting dark we find a café which we were recommended to us that it has the best coffee in Vietnam, it was pretty damn good, then dinner where I fancied lobster though they didn’t have any so went for squid in beer and out came squid with ginger which was just ok washed down with some ice cream.
