day 103, train again...
After the exciting life of Gary today was a bit dull, the novelty of living on a train was wearing off. I started reading Richard E Grant’s ‘With Nails’, a diary of his through filming in Hollywood. Inbetween that played Blob, changed time zones another 2 hours (meaning that’s 5 in total that we gained) and got some attention from a couple of Russians, mostly the 2 girls who were our cabin attendants and this woman next door with a young child who took a particular interest in Jake, getting his email, his phone number and even going as far as taking his picture without him knowing while out on the platform which was a bit creepy. Had some gourmet hydrated food (noodles and soup) , followed by some kings and more attention from the women who were armed with the little kids “my first English book.” Also we stopped off at a few train stations, Tyumen, the first Russian settlement in Siberia founded in 1584, Karasulsk, Ishim, Omsk (where the writer Dosoevsky was exiled and spent 5 years in case it sounded familiar), Barabinsk and Novosibirsk, the 3rd biggest city in Russia.
