day 107, Listvyanka
Had a bit of a disturbed sleep courtesy of a dicky tummy. Woke up about half 10 ready for breakfast however gave that a miss, and sat about in the hotel while others went for a walk not feeling too great, however wasn’t the worse thing as got near finishing Richard E Grant’s book. After the group finishing the walk and checking out we got a bus to Irkutsk, stopping on the way at a supermarket to stock up on food for the train tonight and tomorrow. We stopped off at Irkutsk and had a walk around the city, it feeling very soviet and a bit run down. After eating dinner in a cafĂ© we went to a pub where I treated myself to a hot chocolate and had a good chat with Kim and Kelly, before getting the bus to the train station and after a bit of faffing boarding the train Mongolia bound. It was a shame I wasn’t feeling great as the weather had perked up a fair bit and in complete contrast to my first impression of Lake Baikal (grim, barren etc) it was beautiful.
