day 43, Zadar and day 44, split

today was a  bit of a weird day . i went to see the town of zadar which was really nice, lots of cool buildings and they had this massive solar panel which they called greeting to the sun, with planets again as solar panels going right along the coast. there was also a sea organ so when the sea came in and out a tune played which was surprisingly enjoyable. on my wander around i met 2 girls who i met in the bus, fatima and andrea, fatima is from montreal and met andrea studying in paris who is from amsterdam. we walked around together before coming to the greeting to the sun, where the water looked too good to resist. i need to start packing me cossie in my daybag as i swam in me jocks which was fine though did result later in chaffage.  fatima and andrea were going to sit by the sea all day and it was too hot for me, so i left them to go do some washing. just as i was getting up this morning  two swedish blokes made their beds and got in, apparently they had partied till 9 this morning, and were going to bed for the day. there was no outdoor sink so washed me clothes in the bathroom trying not to disturb them. i mooched around the hostel waiting for my clothes to dry, reading my book, taking a walk to the beach and just having a chill out as i was knackered and it was bloody baking. in the evening i met fatima and andrea for dinner, splashed out again at a restaurant which was really nice, then walked to see the greeting to the sun, which when it was dark has a really cool light led show. the place was really busy even at half 12, people eating ice cream, drinking, shops were still open,  everyone having a good time. i left them to go to bed by one, and woke up with a proper sweaty pillow due to the heat at half 7, argh. got the bus to split just about, and had a look for a hostel. i had some directions to a couple and walked to the first one, the lady who was really nice quoted me a good price, i asked to see the room, its a really small hostel with only 6 beds, a small but clean kitchen and the room was air conditioned, it was actually cold in the room! there i met a cool aussie bloke called steve (who's dad was born in southampton) and eegor, a brazillian studying in birmingham. i left them to go see the town, which was really cool, lots of roman remains where this roman emperor built a retirement castle, and a cool old town. after a few hours and lots of shade stops i returned to the hostel. think i'm going to brac tomorrow morning, a little island which is supposed to have a really cool beach called bol, sean the canadian from bled/ljubljana recommended it, there should be a hostel on the island with a free bed so shall just go over there on the ferry. think i'm gonna go for a swim now as it's cooling down a little!
