day 45, brac

after making dinner last night i was worn out, so went to bed just after half 10, and had a lovely deep sleep as the place was air conditioned (i actually needed the sheet with duvet) and awoke to get the ferry to brac. i missed the ferry that i wanted but caught the next one, which wasn't  bad thing but it was unbelievably hot, at 10 it was reading 33 degrees. on the ferry i met 3 norwegian girls who were hell bent on getting a killer tan, they were the brownest norwegians i've seen (part from maybe john carew but that is cheating) and we sat on deck playing cards, till i was physically melting and had to seek shade. off the ferry which was only 50 mins i was met by this american bloke called andy, who was working at a hostel, didnt have anywhere to stay and was quite cheap so went with him and checked it out, the place was nice, lots of space and clean, so dropped my bag off and went around the town of supetar. the place was really nice, walked around the coast, read my book, had a ice cream and some fruit, went for a swim to cool meself down (it was baking). tomorrow i plan to get up early and rent meself a scooter and go round the island. there was a fire on the island the a couple of days ago as it is so hot and dry, and there were planes and helicopters doing continual loops between the fire and the sea, picking up water and dropping it off, then repeating. saw some planes and helicopters pretty close up (around 25m), yesterday i could see the smoke from split on the mainland. it's good to get out of split as it was very touristy and lots of shit shops and narrow alleyways, and really looking forward to the day tomorrow. they also have a decent kitchen here so will knock summat good up, there is a lidl down the road and it was so nice to be familiar with a shop layout, knowing where things are and all that jazz, sad but true.
